He can be described as a wide-eyed, naive individual, who is open to taking on life's challenges, and always taking them on head first. Despite this, however, Princeton can get discouraged quite easily, while trying to find his purpose in life.
Kate Monster lives on Avenue Q and wishes to create a school for monsters. She is Princeton's love interest, and she kind of likes him back too. Kate is a kindergarten teaching assistant, and her boss is Mrs Thistletwat. She is endearing and a bit innocent, but doesn't hold back when brushed up the wrong way!
Lucy the Slut - by name AND reputation - is a saucy singer at the Around The Clock Cafe. She loves to seduce the male clientele and make them feel "Special" - including Princeton - trying to lure him away from Kate Monster.
Nicky is a 25-year-old Ernie-like slacker with no job. He lives on Avenue Q with his former college room-mate and best friend Rod. His heart is always in the right place, but he isn't particularly tactful with his words, and often drives Rod berserk.
Rod is an extremely well-groomed, obsessively clean, and slightly hysterical closeted homosexual. He is secretly in love with his former college room-mate and best friend, Nicky, and is an investment banker.
Brian is a broke and unemployed 32 year-old with aspirations of being a comedian on late-night TV. He lives on Avenue Q with his Japanese wife, Christmas Eve.
Christmas Eve hails from Japan where she earned two master degrees, and is a therapist with no clients who lives on the Avenue with her fiancé, Brian. She has a sharp tongue which can sometimes land her in trouble, and has good intentions, with not so good execution!
Gary Coleman (yes THAT Gary Coleman) lives on the Avenue and is the superintendent of the apartment buildings, offering plenty of worldly life advice to the residents and newcomers after a life of misery and selling all his possessions on eBay.
Trekkie Monster lives on the second floor of the apartment building on Avenue Q. He is obsessed with collecting and looking at internet porn. He also has made millions (perhaps billions or trillions) of dollars investing in pornography on the stock market.
The Bad Idea Bears are kind of like the good and bad angels that sit on our shoulders to help us make decisions - except that BOTH of these cute as f*ck bears are BAD. Despite this, they are diabetes-inducing levels of sweet, and seem ever so innocent as they persuade Princeton into making terrible life choices.
Mrs. Thistletwat is a kindergarten teacher and Kate Monster's boss. She is known to be a bit of a crabby old bitch, and believes that she will be able to recover from heart replacement surgery by lunchtime the same day!
